Baggage Inspection: Refining Image Clarity
Smart Zoom (SZ) Technology is an intelligent magnification technology that enhances the informativeness of images. It allows real-time enhancement of the resolution of the original images to a higher resolution for displaying X-ray images. When using the Smart Zoom technology, operators experience increased detail and improved ability to accurately identify object details in baggage with complex contents. The significance of Smart Zoom increases with the magnification factor, with a maximum value of 96x image magnification.
Smart Algorithm Insight
Smart Zoom algorithms utilize mathematical models and machine learning methods to enhance image resolution. They are based on the application of mathematical models and machine learning methods to restore high-frequency image details that are not clearly represented in the original image. The effectiveness of these algorithms depends on various factors, including the quality of the original image, the complexity of textures to be restored, and the volume of available training data. Additionally, these algorithms cannot reconstruct information that was not present in the original image, hence they may not always achieve ideal results.
The operating principle is based on the application of so-called GAN (Generative Adversarial Network) networks. These networks consist of two subnetworks: the generator and the discriminator. The generator attempts to create a high-resolution image from the low-resolution original image, while the discriminator tries to determine whether the image is real or generated. During the training process, these two networks “compete” with each other, aiding the generator in better understanding how to accurately restore images.
